Topspin Tennis Players and Parents,
After years of dreaming and months of planning, Topspin Tennis Academy will be building a new facility that will serve our clients for years to come.
This Fall, Topspin Tennis Academy will be at home in a new outdoor facility that we will be constructing over the summer months. The facility will be 4 courts, two full size regulation 78' courts, and two dedicated 8 & under 36' courts. The regulation courts will also have permanent lines creating 60' courts for our 10 & under clients. In addition, the facility will have lights for evening programming and restroom access.
Topspin's new facility is being built on the grounds of The Meadowbrook School, in Meadowbrook, PA (a section of Abington Township). The Academy is looking forward to this new partnership. The site is under 1 mile from where Topspin Tennis Academy was launched nearly 15 years ago at Penn State Abington. It is less than 2 miles from Crestmont and Roychester Parks where a lot of our current programming is running. It is also less than 3.5 miles from Bryn Athyn's Tennis Courts and Meadowbrook Apartments where we ran programming for years prior to the pandemic. It is easy to reach just off Old Welsh Road and centrally located for most of our clients.
Additionally, from a tennis perspective, the site is has a number of advantages. The Meadowbrook School is set on a cul-de-sac. The courts will be surrounded by mature trees and will sit in a natural depression that will help guard against wind. Traffic, trains, fire sirens, and many other distractions will be a thing of the past at our new location.
We anticipate being able to use the outdoor space more than 8 months of the year, and will be able to offer daily programming during the week as well as various opportunities on weekends. Topspin will also offer clinics and camps throughout the summer months.
Additional information will be coming in the weeks and months ahead, We are very grateful to all our clients, many who have been with us for years, as well as those who are new to the academy.
Just over a year ago, the Covid pandemic ground the nation and our academy to a halt. Last April, we did not know what our future looked like, and honestly did not conceive this would be possible. But as we relaunched our programming last summer, the participation from our clients has been tremendous, but our inability to control our teaching locations was tough. We trust that this new site will allow us to provide our clients with even better services and programming options in the years to come.
As we prepare for this new chapter we hope you will continue with us through the summer at our multiple sites, and hit the courts with us this fall at our new site as we teach a sport you can enjoy for a lifetime.
